during the Normandy Etretat is a small fishing town overlooking a beach of pebbles and topped by tall white cliffs. I am especially its two cliffs, and the Falaise d'Amont Falaise d'Avel, which are worth a trip to this part of Normandy. the top of the first, which is reached by climbing a steep path, is the Chapel of Notre Dame de la Garde, a monument and a museum dedicated to the early aviators, on 8 May 1927 attempted to cross the Atlantic Ocean the north edge of White Bird. The second
Crag is reached by a staircase that leads to a beautiful lookout on the cliffs overlooking the ocean. Falaise d'Avel relies on the extraordinary Manneporte rocky arch, behind which stands the Aiguille, an obelisk-shaped rock 70 meters high.
These reefs, along the beaches frequented by holidaymakers, attracted many artists, including painters Eugene Boudin, Gustave Courbet and Claude Monet that were captured, but also writers such as Maurice Leblanc, who set a story of his character most famous, Arsenio Lupin, Gustave Flaubert and Guy de Maupassant.
The reputation of this former fishing village is mainly due to Claude Monet, French painter impressi.onista that captures the enchanting landscape with cliffs in his paintings.
